On the occasion of the 27th Death Anniversary of Deshbhakta Ratnappa Kumbhar, the Council of Education and DRK College of Commerce, Kolhapur organized a meaningful programme on 23rd December 2025. To honor his vision of self-reliance and initiative among youth, the BBA Department launched an innovative year-long activity titled “DRK Mart.”
DRK Mart is designed as a practical entrepreneurial platform where students set up stalls and sell products such as food items, educational materials, and daily utility goods. This initiative provides hands-on experience in business planning, marketing, teamwork, and financial management. The inauguration took place in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Hon. Secretary Dr. Vishwanath Magdum, Adv. Vaibhav Pednekar, Principal Dr. Varsha V. Mendargi, and other respected faculty members.
The activity received an enthusiastic response from students, showcasing creativity, confidence, and business skills. By continuing DRK Mart throughout the year, the BBA Department aims to strengthen experiential learning and nurture an entrepreneurial mindset among students. This initiative stands as both a tribute to Deshbhakta Ratnappa Kumbhar and a progressive step towards practical education and self-development.
