In the presence of esteemed guests including Honourable Sau. Rajanitai Vishwanath Magdum (President, Council of Education), Dr. Varsha V. Maindargi (Principal, D.R.K. College of Commerce, Kolhapur), Dr. T. L. Kamble (Librarian), and Dr. Tahir S. Zari (Incharge Director, MBA Department), an academic activity titled “Reading Corner for Executives” was organized by the MBA Department of D.R.K. College of Commerce, Kolhapur, for MBA 1st Year students on Tuesday, 12th May 2026 at 11:30 a.m. in the MBA Department. The activity was designed to cultivate a strong research orientation among students by encouraging them to explore scholarly work and engage in critical analysis. It specifically aimed to enhance students’ analytical thinking, communication skills, presentation abilities, and overall academic confidence while also bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world applications in the fields of Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, and Information Technology. As part of the activity, students were grouped in pairs and guided to select research papers from reputed peer-reviewed journals such as the Indian Journal of Marketing, Indian Journal of Finance, and International Journal of Applied Computing, among others available in the college library. Each group undertook a detailed reading and systematic analysis of their selected paper, focusing on understanding the research problem, objectives, methodology, data interpretation, key findings, and conclusions. Based on their study, students prepared well-structured PowerPoint presentations, ensuring clarity, coherence, and academic rigor in presenting their insights. During the session, each group was given a specific time slot to present their work before peers and faculty members. The presentations were followed by interactive discussions, questions, and feedback, which further enriched the learning experience by encouraging critical evaluation and exchange of ideas. The activity not only improved students’ ability to comprehend and interpret academic research but also strengthened their public speaking skills, confidence, and teamwork. Overall, the “Reading Corner for Executives” proved to be a highly enriching and intellectually stimulating experience that fostered independent learning, enhanced research aptitude, and enabled students to connect classroom knowledge with contemporary developments in the business and management world.
