Activities under Swachhata Pakwada
1. Lecture... Under the Swachhata Pakhwada activities on 1st August 2026, NSS unit of the college organised a Lecture of Principal Dr. Mrs. Varsha Maindargi on "Swachhata Awareness" The Principal appealed the participants to maintain cleanliness everywhere including at home, school college, roads, markets etc. she appealed the students to not to use the plastic so as to save environment from pollution andemphasized that cleanliness is not the responsibilty of the government alone, it is the responsibility of all stakeholders in the society. on this occasion 84 students were present along with NSS PO Prof. (Dr) A. S. Banne and Niranjan Savane.
2. on 10 August a Wall Paper presentation was organised on the topic “Awareness about Swachhata/Cleanliness.”
3, 4. Cleanliness Awareness Rally and Cleaning at Shahaji Law College ground on the Occasion of Independence Day and Swachhata Pakwada 14.8.2026
On the occasion of Independence Day and Swachhata Pakwada volunteers of the National Service Scheme (NSS) of Deshbhakta Ratnappa Kumbhar College of Commerce, Kolhapur, run by the Council of Education, organized a Cleanliness Awareness Rally and Shramdan on the Occasion of Independence Day and Swachhata Pakwada on 14.8.2026.
The route of rally was from Deshbhakta Ratnappa Kumbhar College of Commerce, Uma Talkies, Bagal Chowk to Shahaji Law College, Kolhapur.
Inspired by the concept of “Clean Surroundings, Beautiful Surroundings,” the volunteers enthusiastically participated in both the activities . The campus and ground of Law College was cleaned and beautified by removing litter, clearing plastic, unwanted bushes and vegetation. Through this initiative, a message promoting social responsibility, national service, and the spirit of volunteerism among students was conveyed.
The programme was attended by Dr. Vishwanath Magdum, Secretary of the Council of Education; Dr. Ashok Banne, College NSS Coordinator; Dr. Suresh Farakte, and NSS student volunteers.
The Independence Day celebration was not limited to flag hoisting alone but was observed through an activity that fostered awareness of social responsibility. The cleanliness drive helped create a cleaner campus and highlighted the inspiring message that “Service to the Nation begins with Service to Society.
