Admission Policy & Process

B. COM.

Introduction

This policy aims at providing procedures and guidelines with respect to the Admission process of the college. The Policy framework refers to the admission to the Under Graduate (B. Com.) programme offered by the college.  This framework comprises of basic rules with respect to admissions.

The admission process of the college is transparent and unbiased. The students are selected as per the norms prescribed by UGC, State Government and Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The selection of students is purely based on the merit. The information about admission is published in the leading local newspapers and the same is notified on college website.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to B. Com.:

A student should have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) in Commerce or Science or its equivalent Examinations.

Intake Capacity for B. Com.:
Grantable: 600 Students,          Non-grantable: 240 students
Necessary Documents for Online Application:

Scanned copies of

  • Students Photo
  • Students Signature
  • Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) in Commerce or Science or its equivalent Examinations [original while physical verification]
  • Leaving Certificate [submit original while physical verification]
  • Caste Certificate (wherever applicable) [original while physical verification]
  • Non-creamy layer Certificate (wherever applicable)
  • Income certificate (wherever applicable)
  • Any other relevant documents (as per the list given in registration portal)

Admission procedure for B. Com. Programme:

The admission committee is constituted by the Principal of the college.

Admission procedure is online and consists of the following steps-

  1. Notices are displayed on the college website along with prospectus.
  2. For Online Registration and filling in applications, web portal is opened after declaration of XII (HSC) results of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
  3. Students are appealed to fill and submit the application forms along with necessary documents through the given portal.
  4. Applications and the documents are scrutinized online by admission committee.
  5. Students are notified to rectify the errors, if any.
  6. The list of provisionally selected candidates is displayed on college website after following the reservation rules of government of Maharashtra and Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
  7. The first round of admissions is announced and eligible students are instructed accordingly.
  8. The physical verification of relevant original documents is done prior to payment of admission fees.
  9. Concerned students are notified to pay the fees online.
  10. After the online payment of prescribed fee students get admission to First Year of B. Com. Programme.
  11. If the seats remained vacant subsequent round/s is/are declared.
  12. After confirmation of admission, the allotment of division is done according to the medium and elective subjects of the students.
  13. Identity Cards are issued to the admitted students.
  14. There is no provision for management quota.

Admission Fees for B. Com.:

Admission fees for the B. Com. Programme are decided by affiliating university. Prescribed admission fees to be paid by the students are notified on the college website.

Fee Concession:

As per the norms of Central & State Government, scholarships & freeships to the candidates under reservation category are provided after verifying relevant caste certificate and documents issued by the competent authority.

 Eligible students are encouraged to take advantage of the financial aid in terms of Scholarships / Freeships such as Government of India Minority Scholarship, Open Merit scholarship, PTC Freeship, STC Freeship, EBC Freeship, Ex-Servicemen Freeship, Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship.

Cancellation of Admission & Refund of Fees:

Refund of fees after the cancellation of admission is made as per the prevailing rules and regulations made by the competent authority.
