Homage to Savitribai Phule on her Death Anniversary:10/03/2025
The NSS Department of Deshbhakta Ratnappa Kumbhar College of Commerce, Kolhapur, solemnly observed the death anniversary of Savitribai Phule, the pioneer of women’s education and social reform in India, on 10th March 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, NSS volunteers, and students.
The program was graced by the presence of Principal Dr. Mrs. Varsha Maindargi, Vice-Principal Dr. R. S. Naik, NSS Programme Officer Dr. Ashok Banne, and a large number of NSS volunteers.
Principal Dr. Mrs. Varsha Maindargi addressed the gathering, highlighting Savitribai Phule’s immense contribution to women's education, her relentless efforts towards social upliftment, and her role in shaping an inclusive and progressive society. She emphasized the need for the youth to draw inspiration from Savitribai’s legacy and continue working towards gender equality and education for all.
The event concluded with a collective reflection on Savitribai Phule’s inspiring journey, followed by a pledge by the NSS volunteers to uphold her values in their lives and community service.
The program was successfully conducted with the active participation and cooperation of all present, reinforcing the commitment of the college towards social reform and educational empowerment.
